The Poet
Film Actor
In addition to his visual art, Anwar Molani is a published poet and reciter of Urdu poetry. His work often takes the form of nazms (a major form of Urdu poetry written in rhymed verse or modern free verse) and is frequently shared within South Asian literary circles.
His poetry, much like his acting and painting, often explores themes of identity, migration, and the “golden age” of life — reflecting his background as both a doctor and a veteran performer. Notable performances include the DOGANA Mushaira in Washington, D.C. (2022) where his moving nazm was widely celebrated by the South Asian diaspora.
